Multi-leg chains
Multi-leg chains are used for the traction and lifting of heavy loads that need to be secured in one or more places. When choosing the ideal sling for each operation, the hoist angles of the legs with respect to the vertical should be taken into consideration, as the capacity of each sling will be affected by them.
The following table shows which multi-leg sling to use depending on the load being lifted and the connection points that are available, always bearing in mind the hoist angles.
When slings are loaded unevenly, a Working Load Limit is recommended as determined here:
2 leg slings, calculate as one sling with one leg in terms of WLL
3 and 4 leg slings, calculate as 2 leg slings in terms of WLL
